CCCHS seniors Isabelle Blackwood and Reagann McDonald were two of 16 youth leaders in Kansas who were awarded a scholarship to attend CADCA's National Leadership Forum. CCCHS graduate and former YlinK member Rusell Spurlin also attended as the manager of Youth Leadership Upstream Kansas. Our local young leaders are doing great things! See full news release below.

"As their sponsor, I am so proud of the accomplishments of these exemplary young adults. They have stepped forward and led their peers, not only at the local level, but they have also established themselves as leaders at the state and national level. I am so excited to see what the future holds for them!" stated Lori Martin.

The Clay Counts Coalition sponsors YLinK chapters at CCCHS, CCCMS, and both Wakefield Middle and High Schools. YLinK is a youth-led and adult-supported prevention council that works to provide safe and drug-free evening events for students called "Fifth Quarters" as well as assemblies that encourage students to make positive choices. YLinK additionally provides leadership training and the opportunity to travel to national leadership conferences. Clay Counts takes pride in the opportunities that membership in YLinK has created for these students. We strongly encourage and welcome any students in our schools to join their  YLinK chapters!

For more information on YLinK, contact Clay Counts' Community Mobilizer Lori Martin @ 785-410-5486, or in person at The Clay County Health Department.
