PREVENTION INITIATIVES

OUR KIDS COUNT!
Our Kids Count! blog gives the parents and caregivers of middle school-age kids the education, strategies, and empowerment they need to raise children who are healthy as well as alcohol, tobacco, and drug free.

THE PARENT PROJECT
This FREE parent-training program is for parents raising difficult or out-of-control children. No matter how difficult the situation may be, we can help."Little miracles." It's what we do!

NOT IN MY HOUSE
#NOT in my house is a community prevention effort with the primary goal of reducing youth social access to alcohol by raising awareness about social host liability and related misperceptions surrounding underage drinking.

OD2A INITIATIVE
Clay County was blessed to earn the Opioid Data to Action Grant in 2020. This funding has allowed our community to use our trauma-informed lens to promote programs that will lead toward safer and more resilient community.

SUICIDE PREVENTION
Clay Counts is partnering with school staff to teach students about mental health and how to seek help if they are worried about themselves or a friend. We are using a program called SOS Signs of Suicide. The program teaches students about this difficult topic and encourages them to seek help.

YOUTH COUNCIL
Our young leaders are ready to make a difference! With the help of the Kansas Prevention Collaborative, young people are finding their voice. Their vision is to "Be That Safe Someone." Click the button below to learn more about their plan.
